Aurora Police Release Bodycam video of Stabbing of Aurora officer, deadly shooting of suspect

Today, we are releasing a critical incident video related to the officer-involved shooting that occurred April 9, 2026. We strive to release these videos in a timely fashion following an incident, while also following legal requirements to only release them to the public after an affected family has viewed them. Any loss of life is a tragedy for an individual's family, our community, and the officers involved, no matter the circumstances. We know there may be additional questions. Further information will be shared once the following investigations are complete: • The 18th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is conducting an independent investigation to determine whether the officer’s actions complied with state law. • The Aurora Police Department's Internal Investigations Bureau is conducting an administrative investigation of the entire incident, assessing compliance with agency policies and training.
