Columbus Police Release Bodycam Video After Fatal Shooting During Domestic Violence Call

In an effort to dispel misinformation, we feel it is critical to provide the public with accurate facts on the officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 2, 2026. The Columbus Division of Police has released a clip of the body-worn camera of one of the officers involved in this incident. As shown in the video, officers were approaching an apartment building when they heard shots being fired. Within seconds, they encountered a male, later identified as 33-year-old Isawan Foster, who was armed with a gun and firing shots towards the building as he emerged from an entryway. Two officers discharged their weapons, striking Mr. Foster. After officers rendered aid, Mr. Foster was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
