On Saturday, May 23rd, Patrol Deputy Threatt responded to a severe single-vehicle accident on I-77 Northbound at the 62 Mile Marker. When he arrived, he found the vehicle overturned, partially on fire, and a driver trapped inside. He was the first to arrive on scene, Deputy Threatt didn't hesitate, he immediately jumped into action, risking his own safety to pull the driver from the burning vehicle. Additional first responders quickly arrived to extinguish the fire and provide medical care. Later, we learned the driver was an out-of-state resident traveling through Chester to Charlotte to celebrate a massive milestone, finishing her radiation treatments for breast cancer.
