Thin Blue Lenz Neutral Summary
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Narcotics Bureau detectives arrived at the 37900 block of 11th Street East in Palmdale to serve a search warrant related to narcotics sales. Detectives were accompanied by uniformed Palmdale Station patrol deputies in marked black-and-white patrol vehicles. Detectives encountered a suspect in an idling vehicle adjacent to the target location. The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Christopher Reynoso. As Narcotics Bureau detectives approached the location, they encountered Reynoso seated inside the idling vehicle with dark-tinted windows, parked along the curb adjacent to the target location. Because the residence was suspected of narcotics sales, detectives could not safely proceed with the approach without first determining who, if anyone, was inside the vehicle, as it posed a potential officer-safety concern. As Reynoso attempted to move the vehicle, detectives issued commands for him to stop. Reynoso then moved the vehicle forward, crushing a deputy’s foot and pinning it beneath the rear tire. Reynoso subsequently accelerated the vehicle toward a detective, resulting in a deputy-involved shooting. Reynoso’s vehicle continued a short distance before colliding with a parked vehicle and coming to a stop. Deputy personnel provided medical aid to Reynoso until the arrival of Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. Reynoso was pronounced dead at the scene. One deputy was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his foot. No other deputies or persons were injured during this incident.
